jacobs well are delighted to be working with Eco-fashion designer Lusmila McColl of New Jersey based McColl & Clan. Lusmila is a half American, half Scottish, designer who began her ethical fashion brand by working with Harris Tweed. Mccoll&clan consciousness, care, and compassion to the environment and the workers bring to the consumer tartan themed eco luxury.

Lusmila was commissioned by David McGill of International Tartans, the leading designer of ethically-produced tartan, to create a royal garment using the official Queen's Diamond Jubilee ethical tartan. The gown titled 'The First Lady at the Palace’, was showcased at the Scottish Parliament.

jacobs well promoted at Princeton University and New York University Fair Trade Fashion Show

jacobs well professionally crafted for Lusmila two luxury tartan jackets, a men’s biker jacket in the New Jersey State Tartan and a ladies coat in the Queen of Scotland Tartan.  Both jackets were premiered this month at the Second Annual Princeton University Fashion Initiative and will be showcased on the 2nd May at New York University Fair Trade Fashion Show which attracts local fashion designers and organisations who adhere to fair trade business practices and promote environmental sustainability.

In Lusmila own words

“If it were not for your support, your knowledge, guidance and the wonderful team of talented employees there in India, I would not have the courage I have now. Seeing my clothing professionally crafted and going to such an amazing organisation that directly positively impacts the lives of the poor in India. How can I not want to be a success and sell this and many more items.” Lusmila McColl of Mccoll & Clan www.mccollandclan.com

jacobs well are proud to be working with such a talented fashion designer who is able to portray through her clothing designs the true skill and craftsmanships of the women and men we work with in India.

I hope from this Scottish twist a little more royal fortune may come our way.
